This week is the release of Persona 4 Dancing All Night for the Playstation Vita! Did you order a copy? I sure did!
For those of you who do not know: Persona 4 is the fourth installment of the Shin Megami Tensei Persona series by Atlus. In Persona 4, the protagonist is sent to live with his uncle in Inaba during a time when mysterious murders begin to happen. The story follows the protagonist and his band of friends as they try to solve the murders, bring the murderer to justice, and try to have a normal life; all before the protagonist has to return home. The Protagonist has the wild-card ability — he can summon different personas. He is the first to awaken to this power and the only one with the wild card ability, as he had nothing to hide.
Persona 4 Dancing All Night is a spin-off to the Persona 4 series, the spin-offs include Persona Q, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 4 Arena. Persona 4 has also been made into an anime and so has Persona 4 Golden.
Persona 4 Dancing All Night has its own storyline that takes place after Persona 4; the protagonist and Rise (who you meet in Persona 4) team up to find out what happened to Rise’s partners in her group. It is a rhythm game like the Hatsune Miku games. Did I mention Hatsune Miku will be DLC for Persona 4 Dancing All Night? No? WELL SHE IS!
Persona 4 Arena is a fighting game (like Guilty Gear) which has its own story, and brings in Persona 3 characters as well. Persona Q has both Persona 3 and Persona 4 teaming up to solve a mystery; to find out why they were all trapped in the Persona 4 universe unable to leave the Persona 4 school. Persona 4 Golden expands on the Persona 4 universe and introduces a new character named Marie and new social links!
I know many people don’t like spin-offs to original games, but if you like rhythm games and Persona 4, I suggest getting this and adding it to your collection. I certainly am!
